Brittany Ferries Refits 2023/24

Is Barfleur having a winter refit? She's been quite the workhorse this winter and is starting to show it. She is due back in Poole today, but no idea whether she's going to be having a spruce up at all? Anyone know?

Not now no. She'll be on until November now. She would have had some work done while she was resting up the canal earlier in the winter I'm sure.

'Normandie' arriving into Portsmouth International Port this afternoon, looking fresh from her recent Refit in Gdansk, Poland.

With Galicia and Bretagne both re-entering service yesterday that's another refit/lay up season over. We now wait for the summer timetable release to give an insight into what happens next..

Normandie, belonging to Brittany Ferries, has a 20-year tradition of repairs at Remontowa Shiprepair Yard S.A.
We proudly announce that we overhauled her four Main Engines and two AEs. We also did dry-docking works, including overhauling the stabilizers and, of course, painting the hull.

MF Normandie - look at her in the photo taken shortly before departure from REMONTOWA. She looks beautiful.

We would like to thank BAI for trusting us!

When is Mont due for a hull scrub - saw her on BBC Breakfast this morning on the D Day bulletin, my eye was drawn to her rather grubby looking waterline. Looked like thick green sludge or whatever,

If Normandie this winter just gone, then this winter would be Mont St Michel.

I trust the sludge has it's passport?

Why did I think Boris Johnson when you mentioned sludge? 🤔  He had an American passport once too I guess...

Didn’t you mean slimey.

Or is that Trump? Sludge, Slimey and Slippery (Netenyahu) would sum up that trio of turn of the decade popularist nationalists.

(right sorry for that deviation)

Both Mont St Michel and Normandie received a clean up while on layovers in preparation for the D-Day Events, they seem to give them both a clean on Wednesdays while they spend more time alongside.

Trying to find footage of Barfleur taking part in the flotilla in Poole.  The Bournemouth Echo has it on their Facebook page but behind a paywall (unless you look it up one their website on an external browser which seems to bypass the paywall.

This might work as I opened it in Safari.
